Scheduling
Overview
Scheduled backup is simply when you set your backup to run at a specific time and on specific days. Scheduling differs from Manual Backups and CDP backups in various ways.
Setting a schedule means that there will be a specific time / day / week / year that the backup must initialize, run and complete. Setting schedules in the Gbackup For Computers or Gbackup For Servers applications differ one from another and is discussed in the sections below.
It is most ideal to schedule your backups for when your network is least utilized and when you are not using many system resources. For most businesses, this time is in the evening when the computers or servers are idle and the network is most free as staff have gone home. However, the opposite is applicable in some working environments and this is why the flexible scheduling is so important and can be setup to suite your needs and requirements.
Please keep in mind that your computer and / or server must be on and connected to the internet to be able to perform backups.
Gbackup For Computers
To Schedule the Gbackup For Computers application is easy and can be configured and amended at anytime by opening the application and using the scheduling icon in the menu.
The individual days can be selected and the time that the backup should begin. Your computer must be on and connected to the internet to be able to perform the backup.
If you want your backup to run continuously, then do not select a schedule, but rather enable CDP.

Gbackup For Servers
To schedule the Gbackup For Servers application is easy and can be configured and amended at anytime by opening the Gbackup application.
Go to the Backup Settings Menu. Then select the Properties Button to change your schedule. Here you can use the drop down items to change your schedule to backup daily, weekly, monthly and / or custom.
Custom is good to 'add' if you would like a once-off backup on a specific date at a specific time. You could use this option to backup files that seldom or never change.
Please note that you would not have CDP enabled if you have selected scheduled backup's.
